“Zig zig, zig pig, pig pig, piggy girl, the ma’am, ma’amy, my ma’am, my girl, my pig, zigster, ziggles, zigmeister, ziggy snarldust.
Ziggy was my center. I’ve always wanted a dog of my own and the day finally came when I met her. A few months after graduating college, I walked into the San Antonio Humane Society and saw this tiny, spunky pup from afar. From that first moment, I knew she was my girl.
We spent many years together bouncing around the country, hiking, camping, taking walks, swimming and skating together, playing fetch and snuggling. People, places and things would come and go, but the bond between us was always present.
She had the most beautiful heart. Her favorite thing was to greet (literally) every stranger by wiggling up to them, putting her butt on them and looking up with her precious amber eyes. I hope that I can live my life with as much love, joy and excitement as her.
I will always laugh at the goofy memories - like when she would knock on my neighbors door for snacks. Her favorite snacks were chicken and bully sticks. She loved destroying tennis balls, running freely in fields, barking at the embers off a camp fire and rolling around in tall grass.
My life will never be the same without her, but I’m grateful for the twelve amazing years we shared together.
May she finally rest. I love you and will miss you forever, my pig.”
